The CW Gives Early Renewals to Supernatural, Arrow, More


Sam, Dean and Oliver Queen will be back this fall as The CW announced today that they’ve picked up Arrow for a Season 3 and Supernatural for a Season 10! Plus, renewals for The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Reign.

“This season we’ve had great success with our new hit series The Originals paired with Supernatural, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years. The Vampire Diaries is #2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with Arrow continuing to gain among young men, and Reign growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,” said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. “I’m very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season.”

So that’s seconds seasons for freshman hits Reign and The Originals and Season 6 for The Vampire Diaries.

This season, both Arrow and The Vampire Diaries have also seen a 25% jump in digital viewing versus last season, and Supernatural has seen a huge 57% jump in digital viewing over last year.

    This is great news! I man not personally be happy with the direction Supernatural and Vampire Diaries are going in, but they’re both still great shows. Arrow, while overrated, is still a ton of fun, The Originals is great, and I’ve heard great things about Reign. The CW is on the come up.
