Jim Ross Retires from WWE After 20 Years
Legendary wrestling announcer Jim Ross has officially retired from the WWE after 20 years of employment. Ross was used sparingly over the past several years, having long since been replaced at the commentary table by Michael Cole. But he was on the payroll; showing up for public events, fan expos, and speaking engagements.
PWS’ Ryan Clark claims that the decision was made for Ross to retire after he met with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, and even suggested that Ross may have been given a little push out of the door thanks to the heat he brought on himself while moderating the WWE 2K14 legends panel over SummerSlam weekend, and allowing an “out of sorts” Ric Flair (“Let the record show that the witness made the ‘drinky-drinky’ motion”) to ramble.
