This morning, FOX announced two new TV projects in the works – one being from M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs) that supposedly evokes the quirky, cult-show intrigue of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.
Development deals have been inked with Shyamalan for Wayward Pines, and for Bruce C. McKenna’s (Band of Brothers) Blood Brothers.
Wayward Pines, based on the best-selling novel, Pines, by Blake Crouch, is an “intense, mind-bending thriller evocative of the classic cult hit Twin Peaks.” In it, Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But more questions arise than answers, and soon Burke realizes that me might not get out of the town alive. Shyamalan is executive producing the project, with a pilot script from Chad Hodge.
Blood Brothers, a period drama, is the true story of the West Point class of 1861.
