I dunno, guys and gals. Aside from the plastic shattering occasionally, this didn’t really pump me up all that much for the Elimination Chamber PPV. In fact, looking back at some of these spots takes the gimmick down a few notches. We’ll see.

Check out the first two episodes of WWE Superstar Chris Jericho‘s new scripted webseries, “But I’m Chris Jericho!” – “Sausage and Eggs” and “Pirates.”

Not sure why they chose “Sausage and Eggs” to be the first episode of the series as it has little to do with the “starting over as a struggling actor” premise, but whatever. Both were released at the same time, and it’s a webseries, so in the end it doesn’t matter.

Screen Shot 2013-10-23 at 11

Chris Jericho might not be returning to WWE rings any time soon, but check out his new scripted webseries, “But I’m Chris Jericho!” – featuring Chris Jericho playing a washed-up satirical version of himself. Along with the likes of Andy Kindler and fellow Canadian Scott Thompson.

New webisodes launch on and Shaw Media’s Action YouTube Channel, every Tuesday, starting October 29.

Bonus webisodes, behind the scenes footage and #BICJ Game available on

From the press release: “The series stars Chris Jericho as a fictionalized version of himself. In this tongue-in-cheek portrayal of his life, Chris is a former wrestler struggling to make it big as an actor. Despite being on top in the wrestling ring, Chris now clings to the bottom of the acting rung, and must try to contain his frustrations in the face of absurdities in the entertainment industry, as well as the ineptitude of well-intentioned supporters. Also featured in the web series is Andy Kindler (Bob’s Burgers, Last Comic Standing) as Chris’s bumbling agent, Phil Blank and Canadian comedy legend Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall) as Chris’s over-the-top acting teacher, A.J. Mirkin.”

Chris Jericho Names His Favorite Opponent Eeehhhver

WWE: In a recent interview with Maxim, wrestling legend Chris Jericho was asked who the best opponent he’d ever worked with was. Here’s what he had to say…

“Probably Shawn Michaels. I think he’s probably the best total package wrestler of all time – he could do it all, and was a big influence of mine when I was first starting. That storyline, the feud I had with him in 2008, that was one of the best programs not just in my career, but in the entire history in of the WWE. It’s always cool when you start out as a fan and then become an ally where you’re working together. It’s the same with music – Fozzy toured with Metallica, and it was like, ‘Here I am with the band that influenced me to get into music.'”

Chris Jericho Gone from WWE Again

It appears that Chris Jericho, who returned as a surprise to the WWE during the last Royal Rumble, is off to tour with his metal band, Fozzy, again – bidding farewell to wrestling fans in a recent tweet.

Seems as though Jericho is done with wrestling in 2013, with his last match being against Rob Van Dam (watch!) this past Monday night on RAW.

WWE: Another great “Post-PPV RAW” gave us the epic pairing of RVD vs. Y2J. Check out the last few moments of their incredible match here!

Jericho was an interesting first choice for a single’s opponent for RVD given the Diva-like qualities RVD attributed to Jericho during the podcast he did with Jay Mohr several months go. It wasn’t trash talking, but RVD did bring up Jericho as being a past opponent who he didn’t really get along with due to Jericho being overly-precious about getting hit in the face.

Still, none of this friction was evident last night.

Chris Jericho Talks Robot Combat League

Showrenity had the chance to speak with WWE Superstar Chris Jericho about his new hosting gig for Syfy’s giant robot reality series, Robot Combat League, and how the show really has to be seen to be believed.

“You’ve never never seen anything like this ever,” Jericho told me. “And when I first heard the concept of giant robots being controlled by humans I thought ‘Oh, that sounds like a cute idea. I’ll check it out.’ But then when I saw them with my own eyes, I was blown away.”

George Lucas Visited the Set of RCL! Find Out Why!

Robot Combat League takes the concept of the Hugh Jackman film Real Steel and turns it into reality with human-controlled-robots pitted against one another for maximum metal carnage and the chance to win $100,000. Twelve teams, with twelve robots, face off tournament style, with Jericho acting as the ultimate Master of Ceremonies. “We’re at the point now, with technology, that if you think of the movie Terminator, in the post-apocalyptic future scene when the robots are walking over human skulls, that’s what these robots are like. And the first time I saw one of these robots walking toward me in the battleground, if it hadn’t have stopped I would have turned and ran away. It freaked me out. They move quick, they fight hard and they could cave the side of your head in. The future is now. This is the perfect blend of humanity and machinery, for the first time ever. It’s the perfect project.”

Jericho boasted about the hard-hitting battle droids, but also expressed sympathy toward those who made the machines that are being sent out to get smashed. “Each robot costs about a million dollars to make and so when you put these two robots together to beat the hell out of each other it’s actually very sad,” he said. “It’s like putting two Lamborghinis into a demolition derby.”

“They were invented by a team who’ve been working on the robots for about three years,” he added. “Actually, before the movie Real Steel came out, they had begun this concept. And this really is a real-life version of Real Steel. There are a group of robot scientists, animatronic experts who work in Hollywood, led by a man named Mark Setrakain, and they created these robots. There are twelve diffetent robots in all, with different looks, gimmicks and qualities. The strategy of the teams is what matters too. There’s a techie and a jock. The jock controls the fighting style of the robot. They put on an exo-skeleton and when the jock throws a punch, the robot throws a punch. When the jock, moves the robot moves. And there’s three rounds. At the end of each round, the tech has to go down and assess the damage.”

Jericho then explained, in more detail, his role on the series. “I’m the host of the show, I’m the commentator of the show, I’m the shoulder to cry on when things go bad,” he smiled. “I’m also the person who’s going to give contestants a nudge when they’re feeling down. Or I’ll call them out when they’re being stupid. I’m there to control the ebb and flow of the show and to be engaging. And the teams who did the best are the teams who had the best chemistry. The ones where the robot also became a part of their team.”

Robot Combat League premieres on Tuesday, February 26th at 10/9c on Syfy.
