Wyatt Family Entrance Theme Being Performed Live at WrestleMania

It’s being said that when Bray Wyatt walks down the aisle at WrestleMania 30 (to face John Cena, which is still the rumored match), he’ll have on-site musical accompaniment – as his entrance theme, by Mark Crozer and the Rels, will be performed live.

Crozer posted the following message on his Facebook page (which has since been removed): “Well as I’m no longer able to contain my excitement I may as well let you know… I’m playing Wrestlemania! I’ll let you know more details when I get them.”

Here’s the Wyatt Family theme – now renamed “Live in Fear” – for your listen
ing enjoyment…

CM Punk Quits WWE

As much as it pains me to write that headline, it appears to be true. CM Punk has indeed taken an indefinite hiatus from the WWE.

After CM Punk left RAW this past Monday night, telling Vince McMahon that he was leaving and “going home,” it seems that he is truly gone from the company for now. Though his contract isn’t officially up until July, Punk has been taken off all future shows and WWE Creative is now moving forward without him in mind. Meaning that, most likely, Daniel Bryan will take Punk’s match against Triple H at WrestleMania 30.

Punk leaving is being said to be the result of a combination of factors – his frustrations over his current storyline (and direction of the company), his displeasure with not headlining WrestleMania (with Batista coming in and taking the spot), and his overall exhaustion. Even though it’s been a longtime rumor that the WWE had huge plans for Punk this coming Summer – even calling it the “Summer of Punk” as Punk was probably set to dethrone Batista at SummerSlam.

Last Friday, Punk expressed his displeasure with the current state of things at the Portland Comic-Con. is claiming, more specifically, that Punk leaving is due to the way the company wants to use him at WrestleMania 30. It’s been a longtime goal of Punk to headline WrestleMania and for someone as specifically goal-oriented as he is (and who also tends to get tunnel vision), this was said to be the breaking point.

This past Monday, some sources say that Punk was set to lose to Antonio Cesaro (after a distraction from Kane), putting Cesaro in the Elimination Chamber march and setting up a Punk vs. Kane PPV match.

It’s only been a few days so there’s always hope that this can all shake out for the best, but for right now Punk is not a participating member of the WWE.

Hulk Hogan Fails WWE Physical Exam

Not that any of us were expecting Hulk Hogan to hit the ropes at WrestleMania 30, but just to cross all the “T”s, the WWE gave Hogan their physical examination…and thusly decided not to book him in a ‘Mania match.

Also, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hogan won’t be put into any storyline that requires him to get physical. So he won’t even, say, get to clear the ring of bad guys if they get up in his face. It’s looking more and more likely that the main reason he’ll be a part of the show is as someone honored in the HoF (as there are still strong reports saying the first Main Event match from the first WrestleMania will be inducted).

Could The Undertaker Face Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30?

WWE: There are reportedly now backstage doubts as to whether Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker will go down at WrestleMania 30. So who else could face the Dead Man? Well, Taker himself has requested Daniel Bryan.

So, as we saw on last week’s RAW, Brock Lesnar returned to challenge for the WWE World Title and Daniel Bryan joined The Wyatts. Meanwhile, WrestleMania is an ever-shifting card, with lots of ideas still being thrown around and very little locked in.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is concern now that Lesnar’s hard-hitting style and possible refusal to meticulously walk through the match with a now-physically limited Undertaker before hand might cancel out the plans for their ‘Mania match. For a while, Cena was the backup but they’re still set on him taking on Bray Wyatt for now. Which leaves us with Sheamus, who some are saying will return as a heel, or the man who The Undertaker named as being someone he’d like to work with – Daniel Bryan.

A Taker/Bryan match could be set up different ways – either with Bryan still being a Wyatt Family heel or with a reveal that Undertaker is behind The Wyatts. Either way, this sounds freakin’ great to me.

WrestleMania, SummerSlam, More to Air on WWE Network

In a recent Variety piece about the WWE negotiating for a new set of TV rights for all their programming, it was revealed that the promotion’s Pay-Per-Views will be available to subscribers of the upcoming WWE Network.

From the article:

“WWE’s pay-per-views, including annual juggernauts WrestleMania and SummerSlam won’t be part of the negotiations, since those will air on the company’s new subscription-based WWE Network, which will also include original series and access to the company’s VOD library. Launch plans for the channel, which WWE sees as its own NFL Network, have yet to be revealed. However, WWE maintains that it could break even on the venture if it can sign up 800,000 to 1 million subscribers willing to pay around $10 to $14 per month.”

Some interesting numbers there. If you get a chance, read the full Variety item (link up in the first paragraph) about the WWE, for the first time, shopping all of their shows (RAW, Main Event, Saturday Morning Slam, Total Divas!, Smackdown) at once to see if one network would be interested in all of them.

The Rock Talks WrestleMania 29

Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, appeared at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour to promote his new TNT reality series, The Hero, but also talked briefly about his return to RAW and his upcoming, headlining match at WrestleMania 29.

A casting call for Johnson’s competition series The Hero is currently underway, so it will be a while before he has to head off and film it. That being said, the WWE’s “Road to WrestleMania” storylines are about to kick in and Johnson is about to return for a multi-month commitment.

“The storyline will be that starting this coming Monday [for RAW], I’m gonna go back, and it’s going to be a big return,” Johnson said.  “That will lead to, hopefully, what will be the biggest WrestleMania of all time at Giants Stadium.  I will headline that show, with someone who I can’t say right now.  We’ve got an amazing four months lined up and planned out that will culminate in the biggest WrestleMania of all time. It’s going to be a hell of a thing.”

Most assume that The Rock will face John Cena in a WrestleMania rematch, but being months out, thinks could always change. Either that, or Johnson just didn’t want to give away to the story, no matter how obvious.
